About the Board
(i) The Odisha Labour Welfare Fund Act has been enacted in the year 2005 with an objective to constitute a fund for financing of the activities to promote the welfare of labourers and establishment of a Board for conducting such activities.
(ii) The Odisha Labour Welfare Fund Rules have been framed in the year 2015, which has been published in the official gazette on 27.01.2016.
iii) Odisha Labour Welfare Board has been constituted on dtd.21.05.2016.
(iv) Government of Odisha has declared commencement of activities of the Board w.e.f 01.05.2017.
(v) The Labour Commissioner, Odisha has been declared as the Welfare Commissioner of the Board vide Notification No.9001 dtd 25.08.2016
vi) The Joint Labour Commissioners, Divisional Labour Commissioners, District Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Officers have been appointed as Inspectors under the Act.
vii) SB Collect Facility has been introduced to facilitate the employers to deposit the dues payable to the Board’s Account.
viii) So far, Rs.2.04 Crore (Approx.) has been deposited by the employers towards employees’ and employers’ contribution.
